SUMMER RESIDENTS’ ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Minutes of Meeting on August 5, 2011
Present: Jill MacDonald, Hal Krause, Hugh Moulton, Peter Tarrant, Bob Champlin, Arnold Trebach, Joel Rottner and Michael Waters
Guest Speaker: Harbormaster Stuart Smith
- Mr. Smith gave a presentation on the work done by the Harbormaster Department. He discussed the status of the mooring management plan and the fees and income produced. Chatham has the lowest mooring fees on the Cape. The Committee discussed with the Harbormaster the fish pier parking, other parking issues and boating access.
- The minutes of the previous meeting were approved.
- The Treasurer, Bob Champlin, reported that the Committee had a current balance of $1,306.40.
- The Committee discussed the Summer Town Meeting and the issues presented.
- The Committee determined to explore issues relating to the beaches, specifically the management of the beaches and the nourishment of the beaches and to start by meeting with Dan Tobin, Director of Parks and Recreation.
- The beach review was referred to the Subcommittee on Waterways, Town Landings and Beaches. Mike Waters was transferred from the School Subcommittee to the Waterways, Town Landings and Beaches Subcommittee, leaving an opening on the School Subommittee.
- The Committee discussed openings on other Town Committees.
- On motion the meeting was adjourned at 11:30 a.m.
